Suspense Analytical Paragraph
In the story “The Tell-Tale Heart” the author creates suspense by describing the character’s anxiety and using vivid words. An example for describing the character’s anxiety is, “Dissemble , no more! I admit the deed!-tear up the planks!-here, here!- it is the beating of his hideous heart! “(Pg 87). This shows the man’s anxiety because it’s showing he can no longer take the heat of what he have done and now the man’s heart is breaking him down. Also when he uses vivid words and vivid description of the man’s eye for example when the author said when the eye looks at him his blood goes cold and that puts a picture in my head as if he’s getting goosebumps and he is just disgusted by that man’s eye.

Co-ed schools essay
Some may think single sex schools are the best choice but money wise, our future , and the LGBT community are the main reasons why we need to stay co-ed schools and how single sex schools benefits no one.
One of the main reasons we should not have single sex schools and keep co-ed schools is the money costs and the whole idea of single sex schools is really unnecessary.
The reason why the money cost would be a problem is we would have to build another school for all boys(or girls) because the whole purpose of having a single sex school is to separate the genders so we would need another building for the other gender; that would take so much time and money. Also all the time and money would go to waste because studies show that there are no difference in behavior nor test scores from students who had started with a co-ed school and transferred to a single sex school and the same with the students that started with a single sex and went to a co-ed school so why take all this time to build these single sex schools just to change nothing. Last there are no single sex schools in iowa city so therefore we would need 4 more elementary schools and 2 more middle schools and 1 more high school to separate the genders, think about how much money that will be.
The future is also another reason why we should keep co-ed schools. By future I mean college and some people say we need single sex schools because of the other gender can be a distraction but when we get in college it will no longer be single sex and everybody will be use to not having to impress the other gender or relationships ect. When we hit college this will become a challenge. The main reasons college will become a challenge are we won’t really know how to connect with the other gender in class and it’ll be more of a distraction because these young adults would have no experience in these social categories. The last reason college will be more of a challenge is what if these social skills that they have not learned could interfere with their learning and no some of these will not affect the students at all but we need to be thinking about all of the students who are transitioning into college.
In my opinion this reasoning is the most important. In the process of single sex schools what about the men and women who claim themselves as the other gender but still have the certain parts which school will they go to? Also making a trans women (and/or man) go to an all male school because they were born a female can make it very hard on a teen’s life. For example when a male (who identified themselves as a female) forced to go to an all women school soon became very depressed and her grades were very low and most likely if we have single sex schools the dropout rates and depression rate will increase rapidly. Last there are many people who don’t accept the LGBT community and what if this leads to bullying ect. We should no risk any of these things we need to leave the schools the same and keep our schools safe and a place where anybody can identify themselves as who they are.
Most say that girls learn better when the other gender in separated because boys become a distraction but studies show that there are no difference in test scores nor behavior so what would be the point of making this big change but there will be no benefits for the students. We are suppose to make changes that are the best for the students but single sex will not help at all.
We need to keep co-ed schools for money issues , our future , and for the LGBT community. Once again single sex benefits no one.
